Medicare has released its list of stand-alone Part D Drug plans available in Oklahoma and other states. Plans offered in Oklahoma increased from 20 plans in 2017 to 23 plans in 2018. Two of the new plans are offered by Cigna-HealthSpring Rx — new to Oklahoma. The third new plan is offered by Express Scripts Medicare which previously has increased its number of plans from two in 2017 to three in 2018. The monthly premium for seven of the 20 plans previously offered in 2017 have increased by more than $10. The greatest increase occurred with First Health Part D’s Value Plus plan whose’ monthly premium increased from $40.20 in 2017 to $66.70 in 2018. Six of the plans previously offered in 2017 have monthly premiums which have decreased. Note: Stand-Alone Part D Drug plans are typically available only to Medicare Beneficiaries enrolled in Medicare Part A and/or Part B (“Original Medicare”). Part D plans are typically not available in connection with Medicare Advantage Plans (“Part C Plans”) which frequently have their own integrated drug plan.
